The question of common sense is always, “What is it good for?” A question which would abolish the rose and be answered triumphantly by the cabbage. James Russell Lowell
The idea is that you have a starting point in life, and an ending goal (that didn’t show up on the graphic, so maybe I DON’T have an ending goal!), and you try and try and try to stay on the Straight & Narrow, but you fail. Sometimes you go backwards. Sometimes you end up REALLY off track. But even then, you’re still moving towards your goal. Or at any rate, you’re moving. You may be doing it wrong, but at least you’re doing SOMETHING!
It’s like trying to walk in a straight line in a desert. You might not be terribly successful, but at least it’s better than sitting on your butt dehydrating to death.
Ah. On the left is a vertical black line, with a squiggly blue line wobbling like a demented alcoholic worm towards another vertical black line. Except somehow the other vertical black line got cut off and so appears to be not there.
